Competition

Every May, competitors from across the world gather on the shores of Kootenay Lake with their saws, chaps, and cleats to decide who is the most skilled logger.  Thousands of spectators attend every year to spend the weekend watching the sawdust fly against the backdrop of beautiful Kootenay Lake.  Witness heart-pounding competitions in over 30 different logging events, ranging from speed chopping to axe throwing. Each competition promises excitement and showcases the incredible abilities of the participants.

  • Open Unlimited Hot Saw

  • Open Underhand Chop

  • Novice Double Buck

  • Intermediate Underhand Chop

  • Ladies Stock Saw

  • Ladies Underhand Chop

Community 

Thousands of spectators of all ages, from all over the Kootenays and beyond will line the bleachers each day to be mesmerized by the incredible skills shown by the competitors as they chop, saw and climb their way to victory!  Kaslo Logger Sports brings the community together to celebrate our area’s deep roots in the logging industry and create lasting memories for all!
